AFA Founder Heads For Texas

AFA Founder, Billy McGehee, left this morning headed for Texas to assist in the disaster recovery efforts caused by Hurricane IKE. The amount of devastation caused by Hurricane Ike is yet unknown but preliminary reports estimate the damage to be in the tens of billions of dollars. “A top priority for AFA is for our athletes to assist emergency management personnel in their disaster recovery efforts. Whatever the job required whether it is cleanup, supply distribution, search and rescue or assisting children and elderly, we are ready to get the job done” said McGehee.

IKE was a category 2 hurricane when it roared ashore early Saturday morning along the Texas-Louisiana coast line. Tidal surge reach 20 plus feet and flooding moved inland for miles. Galveston, Texas was particularly hard hit. Millions of residents evacuated the areas along the coast as well as millions more that fled from the Houston area. Early media reports indicate major damage along the western Louisiana coast.

“I am positive that I will find new “Athletes” in the Louisiana-Texas area that will become part of our AFA network. It is in these terrible times that the true Spirit of America shines through. That Spirit is the people of this great Nation.
