Lauri McMahon Bio
Lauri M. McMahon is the Public Education and Information Resource Officer for Iona-McGregor Fire Protection & Rescue Service District in Fort Myers, FL. She is a Florida State Certified Teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. Since 2004, Mrs. McMahon has been an American Heart Association Instructor and since January 2010 a Training Center Faculty member. Mrs. McMahon is also a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Instructor. In her current position, she is the Public Educator for all fire and life safety instruction for a 42 square mile fire district. She has designed and implemented numerous programs for preschool children, the public schools, community and business education, and safety programs for the elderly. She is also the media liaison for the District. Through her contribution to the creation of the District’s Service Efforts and Achievements, the District was awarded the Trailblazers’ Award and received a $5,000 grant.
Mrs. McMahon has a Bachelor of Science in Education degree through Western Michigan University and a Masters of Education degree with Barry University, Miami, FL. She resides in Fort Myers with her husband, John, their three daughters, and grandson.
