AFA PREPARES TO LAUNCH

From Miami to Los Angeles to New York to Washington, D.C. be on the lookout for the AFA “BE PREPARED….NOT SCARED” National Emergency Preparedness Tour Bus. AFA Founder, Billy McGehee will be driving the SPIRIT of AMERICA I Tour Bus visiting over 160 cities in 2009-2010.

“The primary objective of this national tour will be for me to visit with as many athletes (professional and amateur), sports teams, arenas, stadiums, sporting events, Tour events, as well as elementary, middle and senior high schools, in cities all across America to motivate, educate and recruit people nationwide to sign up with AFA. Our goal this year is to network over two million Americans into the AFA national emergency preparedness network. Our National Network will consistently provide the individuals that sign up with emergency preparedness tips as well as important information on national emergency preparedness training programs (CERT) and products all via email and text” said McGehee.

“I cannot think of any one thing today that could be more important than helping Americans learn how to become better prepared for emergency situations, both natural and manmade. Learning how you can be better prepared to protect your family, friends, loved ones, communities and ultimately the United States of America will take an enormous effort and sacrifice on everyone’s part. Having the opportunity to “TEAM-UP” with athletes, both professional and amateur, teams, sports tours, sporting events, sports media and sponsors to help millions of Americans learn more about how each and every one of us can become better educated and prepared for any type of emergency situation is extremely gratifying to me. Hopefully, this tour and the efforts of everyone who becomes part of the AFA national emergency preparedness network will one day help save many, many lives” said McGehee.

The AFA “BE PREPARED….NOT SCARED” National Emergency Preparedness Tour will also spend time in cities meeting with fire, police, and EMS professionals to discuss opportunities to team up and promote emergency preparedness nights at the local sports arenas, stadiums and schools. Ultimately, these events could motivate individuals all across America to get CERT trained.

The initial list of cities and event locations and dates where the AFA Tour Bus will be visiting will be released in July, 2009. The AFA Tour is expected to begin in August.
